St Catherine's College Mary Sunley Building

In the early 1960s, when Arne Jacobsen won the commission to design the first phase of St Catherine's College, Knud Holscher was his assistant and project architect. Holscher moved to the UK for two years to supervise the work and run Jacobsen's UK office. Twenty years later, Holscher was commissioned by the College to design two small additional buildings; this one and the adjacent Alan Bullock Building. The Mary Sunley building, like its contemporary companion, is a modest single storey project, built of brick, consisting of one seminar and one lecture room, arranged in a linear fashion on either side of a small, central entrance court. The building also has a small office and Director's room, together with support spaces and is mainly used for conference purposes.
