Mengual House

This house is situated at the foot of Sant Llorenç Mountain. The road entrance is located at the upper part of the site, separating a landscaped living area from an unspoilt, natural area on the lower part which slopes into a dry riverbed. The house is concentrated in a cube-shaped form of two levels, keeping most of the site in its original state. These two levels face south from the dining room, giving splendid views of the surrounding countryside and the mountain. The large windows make the house seem part of the natural landscape but these can also be closed off by sliding wooden doors, transforming the design into an introspective cube. This allows the dynamic façade to adjust to changes during the day or over the years.
