Designed to replace the traditional timber-built quarter after a catastrophic fire in the city in 2002. An architectural competition was launched and the winning project comprises retail on the lower two levels, and apartments and offices on the upper levels. The architects have delightfully used timber and glass as the main materials forming a dynamic façade with diagonal and vertical structural elements.
