Ten years after the first opening in 1993, the Netherlands Architecture Institute decided to get a new graphic style, new signposts and a new entrance desk and openness in the central foyer in 2003. Within this new public-focused upgrading, Dutch interior- and productdesigner Richard Hutten was asked to design a custom-made entrance desk and ticket-booth. The prominent yellow wooden box is elevated on wheels (but never moved because of the necessary electricity wires connected onto the bottom).
