The construction plan for this social housing estate has the form of an open, U-shaped court. It is based on the Offingaburg, a large stins. The citadel stood on this mound but was demolished in 1738. The façades of the lower levels look like an archaeological find. Rough, piled-up stones, possible remainders of the demolished buildings, look as if they became visible digging up the mound. The buildings at the higher level remind of barns or stables, evoking the original function of the mound, namely a refuge for cattle when the sea level became too high.
