De Tropenpunt
Opposite of the largest anthropological museum, The Tropenmuseum, a new apartment building was set up, ‘De Tropenpunt.’ It consists out of twelve luxurious apartments, above an exposition space, bar and 14 mechanically organized indoor parking lots. Its triangular location forms the new end of a 19th century building block. Because of this shape, the apartments have a special floor plan, with light coming in from both sides. Also in the façade we can recognize a special scheme with light: a mix of vertical and horizontal lines of dark stone, glass and aluminium. The floors at the corner slightly overlap each other
I like this job, sits well on the roundabout and stitches in nicely with the adjacent buildings.
