Port Authority Headquarters

The growing importance of the activities in the industrial port, near Montoir, has urged the port authority of Nantes - Saint-Nazaire, to implement new facilities for storage and new infrastructure. This administrative center is closely integrated into it surroundings and follows the site. Next to offices it includes a restaurant which is used by several companies. The elongated volume is clad with copper, and partly buried in the sand. Long grass surrounds the building, and is moved by the marine winds. The building closely relates to the rough and primitive nature of the site. The interior is light, simple and generous. Offering a variety of pleasant modular office spaces, bathed in daylight.
