Camp Wildalpen 'for friends of nature' is one of the projects realized within the framework of 'Leader Plus', a provincial/EU funded programme for innovative strategies in rural development. In 2003, Holz Box won a competition for 'Multifunctional camp modules' and Wildalpen is its second implementation following an initial project in Passail. The building consists of six modules of approximately 35 square metres: 1 common space and 5 apartments, each accommodating 6 people. Although the modules are horizontally coupled here and raised above the ground plane on a concrete technical base and 10 columns, it is also possible to link them vertically or to place them on top of existing buildings, structures or footings. The modules are constructed according to a lightweight building method in high-grade, solid pinewood. The floors and internal walls, with integrated lighting and switches, have been left in their natural state and give the spaces a feeling of warmth.
